Is this a real quote?
It is a real starting price, built from the prices we publish. It is not a final quote, because no one can price a roof or a driveway accurately without looking at it. Treat it as the floor: your job starts here, and the on-site estimate tells you the actual number.
Why does it ask for panes rather than windows?
Because a window can be a single sheet of glass or twelve small panes in a divided sash, and those are completely different amounts of work. A standard window is about two panes, which is where the $8 per window price comes from — $4 a pane. Counting panes is simply the more accurate way to get there. Older homes through the Lettered Streets, Columbia and Sunnyland often have far more panes than windows.
What is the $299 minimum service charge?
It is the smallest job we can send a crew out for. Forty panes at $4 is $160, but it is still a van, a crew and a trip, so the $299 minimum applies. Once your pane count passes about seventy-five, the per-pane price is higher than the minimum and the minimum stops mattering.
Do you charge extra to come to my town?
No. The same starting prices apply across Whatcom County, Skagit County and Oak Harbor, with no separate travel charge.
Will the final price be higher than this?
It can be, and we would rather say so than surprise you. Size, condition, access and how many stories all move it. What will not happen is a number changing after the work is done — the written estimate comes first, and if something turns up that was not visible we stop and tell you before carrying on.
Can I book more than one service at once?
Yes, and it is usually cheaper than separate visits because it is one trip. Tick everything you want in the calculator and it adds them together.
