Window Cleaning in South Hill

South Hill is one of the oldest parts of Bellingham, and a lot of what looks like ordinary glass from the street is original. Wood sash, single glazing, and putty lines older than anyone living in the house. On top of that the neighborhood sits above the bay on steep streets, so the west elevations get both the view and the salt that comes with it, while the mature street trees keep the north sides shaded and damp. Old glass also holds decades of mineral deposit, which is why South Hill windows often look permanently cloudy when in fact they are not.

Old sash needs working by hand with less water and no pressure, salt needs dissolving and rinsing, and surface mineral needs a treatment rather than more scrubbing. We use purified water through a water-fed pole where the height and the slope make a ladder a bad idea, and squeegee the rest traditionally. Frames, sills and tracks are included.
